Occupational Therapy - Busy-Boards

Updated: Nov 28, 2020

The Benefits of Busy Boards

Busy boards can be used to enhance a wide range of developmental skills, including counting and number recognition, fine motor and hand-to-eye coordination, and problem solving. They provide an opportunity to explore everyday household objects in a fun, educational way. Busy boards can be purchased, or put together at home with a few inexpensive items, or even things found around the house, anything that interests and benefits the person using it. Make a project out of it, have them help select the objects and design the board. Make a smaller one that can be held in your lap or on a tray, or a larger one that can be mounted on a wall. Colorful or muted, silly or serious, the only constraint is your imagination!
