Handprint Bunnies

Keywords: bilateral coordination, HOH assist, tactile input, decision making, finger isolation

Materials: colored construction paper, pink/red marker, black pen, scissors

Directions: Trace clients hand onto the paper, though make it a little fatter to give the arms and ears some roundness to it. Cut out the handprint and cut off the middle finger to make two ears. Fold the thumb and pinky down for the arms. Color the bunny’s ears pink and draw on a face with any facial expression.

This projects provides an opportunity for clients to use bilateral coordination if they are able to trace their own hand with HOH assist as well as providing tactile input to their fingers. It encourages decision making to select colored construction paper and the bunny’s facial expression. When folding down the arms, encourage clients to use index finger for finger isolation.
