Paper Plate Fan

Keywords: decision making, HOH assist, bilateral coordination, midline orientation, elbow/wrist flexion and extension

Materials: paper plate, scissors, markers, glue, jumbo craft sticks/popsicle sticks

Directions: Cut the paper plate in half and decorate it with markers. Glue the ends of the jumbo craft sticks (preferably with glue gun to hold) together like the picture shown (like an L), and then glue the other ends to the paper plate.

This personalized fan is useful as the weather gets warm. Clients will be encouraged to personalize a design and tolerate HOH assist for coloring/cutting/gluing the project together. It encourages bilateral coordination and working on projects at midline orientation. The end result is useful and they can feel the wind blowing on their faces to cool them down. You can also use HOH assist to guide them on using it, encouraging wrist and elbow flexion/extension movements.
