Materials: Print out attached, markers or crayons, scissors and glue. Optional are ruler and something to “score/crease” the paper with like the back of a plastic knife.
Directions: Encourage clients to color or scribble along the paper, it will be fun to see how it turns out. Score along all the vertical and diagonal lines as shown on the print out. Cut out the shape along the solid lines. As you fold along the diagonal lines, the shape should come together like a 3D tube, apply glue or double sided tape where it says and it forms a continuous piece which ends up being a Flextangle you can have the clients flip and flip for colorful pictures.
This unique paper activity allows for active grasp and movements of upper extremities to color. It encourages bilateral hand use for scoring and cutting paper as well as bringing hands to midline for folding. When activity is complete, it provides great visual stimulation and fidget/tactile stimulation.
